Application of Graphic Design in Package Design

Week 1

We started to explore graphic design in niche areas.

Week 2

Ms. Jin Chi suggested that I formulate the research question in detail to simplify the text and focus on the study of visual appeal, such as the color layout of the package and whether the mixed product is attractive to consumers. The focus should be on how to influence the consumer group.

Week 3

Although package design can influence consumers' purchasing decisions, it does not necessarily change consumers' perceptions, such as the inability to target consumers in the market and the inability to consider consumers' decisions from a marketing perspective. My research is too limited.

The references are too old, and I can't find new and recent references.

The problem statement does not state the main problem and is unclear. The APA format needs to be revised.

Week 4

Some references need to be added to improve the rigor of the proposal. The proposal can be left unchanged for now.

Week 5

In CR2 and CR3, you have a preliminary understanding of the research paper and can grasp its main points, but you need to read more carefully, especially the research method section, because I put its content in the "Discussion" section. So far, my evaluation is reasonable and logical. Please proceed to CR3 to complete T2. Duplicate content needs to be removed. Please rate the usefulness or relevance of this article to your research. If no other research is cited in my review, there is no need to provide a reference list.

Week 6

The conclusion section does not need to be repetitive and complex, and one key point can be cited. Perhaps you can benefit from discussing this issue in the conclusion. APA format needs to be revised

Week 7

An important addition to the conclusion is to consult more literature to support the research. The meaning of the paper is not clear enough.

Week 8

Independent research week

Week 9

Understand why this method is suitable for your research. And explain.

Provide reasons for each question in the questionnaire and support them with literature. The answer options should also refer to the literature. This may be subjective. It is best to include some visual samples in the questions so that respondents can better understand.

Week 10

Survey questions should ensure diversity of the population, not limit.

Week 11

I need more people from more regions to fill in my questionnaire. Increase the number of questionnaires

Week 12

When drawing the final conclusions from the data, I need to cite the literature and apply literature support.

Week 13

You need to create and add data tables yourself, not screenshots. Add relevant literature sources in the abstract section, and add the abstract and literature list on the final presentation slide page. Not enough literature

Week 14

The slide design is OK, continue to add content.

Reflection

This semester's Design Research Methodology course marked my first attempt at writing an academic paper. At the beginning of the course, I felt very confused about the content and requirements, and even didn't know where to start. However, after a period of study, I not only mastered the basic skills of paper writing, but also learned a lot about magazine cover design, which has played a positive role in my personal development and future academic research. I am particularly grateful to Dr. Jin Chi for her guidance and support in the course. Her encouragement helped me a lot. Overall, this semester's experience made me feel both fulfilled and enjoyable.

Observation

During the study process this semester, I realized that there are many details to pay attention to in paper writing. In Task 1, I found that a clear and specific paper title can help determine the direction of the research and avoid the scope of the research being too broad. In Task 2, I learned that choosing articles closely related to my research topic for critical review can provide strong support for the research. In Task 3, I observed that when designing a questionnaire, the questions should be concise and clear so that the respondents can answer accurately. In addition, when conducting visual analysis, ensuring that our views are fully supported by literature can increase the credibility of the analysis.

Results

After this semester, I have gained a deep understanding of many details and specifications of essay writing, including the overall structure of the essay and the format of references. Although I encountered some challenges in completing the assignment, I also learned a lot about essay design and writing and had a lot of fun.
