Experience

Personally, this module made me realize that I am not as proficient in writing as I had thought. I knew from the beginning that I wasn’t the best writer, but now I understand that writing is not one of my strong suits. This has encouraged me to put in more effort to improve in this area where I lack confidence. I also found this module particularly challenging because I had not anticipated having to write a research dissertation. Despite this, I understand its significance, as it has helped me grasp the importance of academic writing. The knowledge shared in this module not only enhances individual understanding but also serves as a valuable resource for others to learn from.

Observation

By observing my peers’ work, I noticed the unique qualities and interests each of them brought to their dissertations. This was both inspiring and motivating for me, pushing me to strive for a dissertation of similar quality. I could see the dedication and hard work that went into their visual design elements, as everyone had to create books based on their research topics. Witnessing this reinforced my commitment to my own work and helped me appreciate the creative and intellectual effort involved in this process.

Discovery

Over the 14 weeks of studying this module, I discovered just how challenging writing can be. Crafting a research dissertation requires extensive research and attention to details that might be meaningful for the study. Writers need to sift through vast amounts of information to present meticulous and thoughtful work, which is truly impressive. Observing these efforts has deepened my appreciation for the diligence required in academic writing and has inspired me to adopt a more thorough approach in my own work.
