REFLRCTION

Experience
This semester has been a remarkable journey in typography design for me. Independently completing a set of my own fonts was challenging yet incredibly rewarding. The process allowed me to delve deep into the world of fonts, exploring and discovering different styles and applications. Compared to the first semester, my understanding of typesetting has significantly improved. I have mastered how to effectively use fonts, trying various layouts and compositions, and even creating my own. These practices have greatly enhanced my typography design skills, allowing me to better apply the principles and techniques learned in class.

Observations
I have observed that achieving a perfect font requires unity and meticulous attention to detail. When designing my own font, I paid special attention to the correlation between each letter, the width and height of the strokes, and the spacing between characters. Consistency and efficiency are crucial in the design process. Learning the typography system and design principles has helped me create unified and visually appealing designs. Moreover, identifying unique shapes and elements when extracting letters from images is critical. These observations underscore the importance of precision, readability, and visual appeal in typography design. Applying my designed fonts to products made me realize the importance and fun of typography, and it allowed me to understand how to incorporate typography into my daily life, bringing a sense of joy when creating products with my own fonts.

Findings
Typography is more than just the arrangement of words; it is a form of visual art that requires creativity and care. Throughout the semester, we learned about eight systems, the use of layers and contrast in posters, and the importance of color matching. The principles of typography also include simplicity, consistency, and readability, which our teacher emphasized during class. Typography not only affects the visual effect but also enhances direct information communication and user experience. Understanding and using the typography system to create a good layout is essential to balancing readability and visual appeal. Additionally, finding the purpose and meaning behind a design provides a clear direction for further development. Through the experience of primary and advanced typography, I have found that typography remains an interesting and deeply engaging field.
